The Swiss Hotel in Makkah and Daddy surprised us with secret birthday cakes at midnight, delivered right in front of the Kaaba to celebrate both Mama’s and my birthday. While the birthday girls were peacefully dreaming and snoring, Daddy received the cakes in the room. He patiently waited until we woke up, so the moment could be shared together with joy and love.

I take a bite, but it tastes different sweeter, softer because I’m sitting here in front of Allah’s house. My tummy is happy, but my heart is even happier. I don’t really understand everything, but I know this is special. I feel safe, calm, and full of joy, like I’m part of something so big and holy. I want to keep looking, even while I chew.

We experienced a long delay at the Immigration counter due to a system error. According to the system records, it showed that my dad had never visited the Maldives before, even though he has more than 100 embarkations from here. Because of this discrepancy, the officers took his passport photos for verification. After completing this process, they allowed us to proceed and board the aircraft.

28th Morning – Cannula Photoshoot Today the doctor removed my cannula. Everyone says it’s gone… but I still feel it. It stayed with me for a very long time. This is one of the longest times I have ever stayed in the hospital since I was born. Today was the second time they gave me an injection, to put medicine through a needle, because the doctor said I was weak from loose motion and vomiting. My tiny hand hurts, and I felt very tired and scared. I don’t know how to explain my feelings in words… it was really hard for me. But my daddy stayed with me the whole time. I held onto him for more than six hours, and that made me feel safe. Even though it was painful, I knew I wasn’t alone. Daddy and mama were there… and that made me strong. 💕
